Worthing Station Banners

An unveiling ceremony of the Welcome Banners at Worthing Station has recently taken place.  These banners which are now hanging with pride of place at Worthing Station, depict different aspects of Worthing, and have created a colourful welcome for all our visitors to give a flavour of what a fantastic town Worthing is.

The banners were designed and created by teachers and students at Oak Grove College, printed by Peters Signs and hung by Southern Rail as part of the station refurbishment. This is one of the first in a series of public art projects being developed through the Worthing Regeneration Programme Team at Worthing Borough Council.

The celebration event was held in the booking hall at Worthing Station 16th June 2008,  The Mayor of Worthing  attended to thank all of the partners that have worked so hard on this project, particularly the students and teachers at Oak Grove College, who were presented with a voucher for art materials from Tilney’s of Worthing, who are celebrating 130 years of business this year.

You can see the banners hanging at Worthing mainline Station, or as per picture below!
